I think you're better suited for hip hop indeed, that's a nice enough beat I'd say, the beginning would need some bass I think but otherwise for just a beat it's nice.

same as before, you should add some fillers to make it more full, otherwise it's way too empty, but the concept is nice in itself, though sorry for the lack of advice, I never made dubstep myself so I won't try to explain something I don't know. Anyway, keep em coming
